5 KEY ELEMENTS TO A UNIQUE SELLING PROPOSITION

Thank you very much for joining us last week! John Avitia and I had the opportunity to host our second GKIC San Diego Chapter monthly meeting which is much more than just that; these meetings are helping transform the way CEO´s and Business Owners approach their market as they learn tools and strategies to scale their business, just like I did only a few years ago.

Also thanks a lot to our generous sponsors who help make this possible: Mint Solar, Self Promotion Platform, Nerys Logistics, Enterprise Education Solutions, Mexico Sales Made Easy, and Olianna Olive Oil.

The central topic was about the "USP" or Unique Selling Proposition, which is something every company should have engraved in their core, as it speaks about what you can do like nobody else, and about the value you offer to your clients beyond the actual products or services, if that is well defined, your audience or ideal client will be much more receptive to your offers.

The group had the opportunity to go through the process we follow ourselves, part of the the legendary GKIC methodology, as well as to engage in an exercise to help them apply this principles to improve or come up with their own USP.

Below you will find 5 key points (out of the 14 we went through!)

1.   What is something you can do like nobody else? What is something you can do better than other CEO´s, business or suppliers? What can you do spectacularly?

What is not a USP?

·        Saying you are the best

·        The Best Flavor

·        No competitors

·        Best pizza

·        Best Price

·        Best Service

2.   Can my USP clearly identify my market? Your USP needs to address your market exclusively. If it´s too long or too vague it won´t work.

"The number one mistake is trying to cover everyone in your USP. The more specific, dedicated and narrower your market is, the more money you can make".

3.   Can you identify a service gap or opportunity? Is there a void in your market you could fulfill? Being able to identify current gaps in services required by your prospects or market can help you find additional services you are not currently providing

4.    Can your provide speed through your products? In some cases it is possible to deliver speed, in other cases it is no possible, especially if you compete on quality. Is there a way for you to deliver speed? People are willing to pay for speed, consider this only if your quality is not compromised.

5.      What is the biggest promise you can make and keep? Write your top 5, not for the USP itself, but to use them as you selling dialogue or closing.

I would love for you to also be part of this exclusive group. To learn more about it take a look at the presentation below. Your company is in a good position to take advantage of the national recreational high THC cannabis market the Senate in Mexico recently advanced. A lot of people enjoy smoking high THC cannabis mixed with tobacco. Certainly there will be no lack of product to launch a brand after the next photoperiodic crop harvest of cannabis.
